This lovely title song is from the movie “Uljhan (1975)”. It starred Sanjeev Kumar and Sulakshana Pandit. It was a suspense movie, which did reasonably well. The lyrics of this song were written by MG Hashmat and the music was composed by Kalyanji Anandji. There were two versions of the song. The male version was by Kishore Kumar and the female version was by Lata Mangeshkar. The Kishore version was arguably more popular. This song finished 11th in Binaca Geetmala 1976 finals.

Sulakshana Pandit reportedly fell in love with Sanjiv Kumar at the time of making of this film. However, Sanjiv Kumar reportedly refused her proposal, since he was in love with Hema Malini at that time and wanted to marry her. Ironically both remained unmarried for life.
